Dr. Andries was raised on a livestock and crop farm in Louisiana. He was an active member of 4-H participating in the livestock program showing breeding beef. He is currently the Animal Science Specialist and Principle Investigator at Kentucky State University where he is responsible for extension goat programs and managing a 200 head research herd of meat goats. He is a member of the national eXtension Goat Community of Practice and has conducted many workshops and programs on goat production since starting at KySU. His extension programs have worked to increase the awareness of parasite resistance and the problems it causes in goats and to increase the use of record keeping for commercial goat producers. He started the Goat Herd Improvement Program (GHIP) in Kentucky and has been working to get more producers to keep and utilize performance records in their herds.

3/97 - 5/98 Colorado State Cooperative Extension Agent (Livestock), Weld County, Greeley, CO, responsible for education of eight hundred 4-H youth with livestock projects, farmers, agribusinesses and related agencies in Weld County, one of the largest counties in Colorado.
1/92 - 3/97 University of Missouri Extension Regional Livestock Specialist, responsible for implementing educational programs in seven county area for farmers, agribusinesses, and related agencies.
9/83 - 1/92 - University of Nebraska West Central Research & Extension Center Swine Operations Manager, planning, conducting and caring for the swine research herd.
12/81 - 9/83 - Swine Manager, Twin Valley Swine Farms, management and care of farrow to finish 200 sow swine operation. Also help with cow/calf operation as needed.
5/81 - 8/81 - Internship, University of Nebraska Animal Science Dept., care of classroom and research livestock.
5/80 - 8/80 - Internship, Mead Swine Research Center, assisting with research projects and caring for livestock and research facilities.

Personal: My wife Patti and I have three boys, Phillip, Matthew and Christopher. Phillip works on a ranch at Dunning Nebraska. Matthew is in college and plays soccer at William Penn University in Oskaloosa Iowa. Christopher is a freshman at Missouri State University-West Plains.
